A Senior lecturer in the Department of Human Anatomy, Dr. Barnabas Dan Borno alias ‘DON B’ has denied allegations by students of Human Anatomy department in the Faculty of Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and their call for his sack for what they called his high-handedness and incompetence
In a telephone chat with the Daily Times from his Zaria base, at the weekend, he said that he had done no wrong to the students.
It would be recalled that a 300 level student in the department, Mallam Ibrahim Zakari who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, had told the Daily Times that the students were yet to be convinced that Don B is qualified to handle his job considering the fact that he was not accessible to them and neither did he satisfactorily attend to their academic and departmental challenges
He said “Don B is a sadist. There is nothing he does that excites the students, even when we approach him for mentoring, he distances himself from us.”
Daily Times investigation further revealed that Dan Borno was earlier sacked as the head of department of Human Anatomy, in 2013, by the then Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mustapha, for negligence of duty and insubordination but he later found his way back, and had since then subjected the students including those at the post-graduate level to untold academic hardship.
