A high court in Abuja is set to entertain a suit filed by members of Barwa layout Land Owners Association, Kuje and the management of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) over alleged revocation of lands already allocated to the association in the Kuje Area Council by the FCDA
According to the Chairman of the association, Chief Tobias Obiechina, members had already been mobilised to attend the scheduled court session at Court 18 of Apo district on Tuesday the October 27.
He recalled that the land which was earlier allocated to members of the association by the authorities of the FCT, after thorough legal search, recertification, and full documentation, since 2003, was now allegedly being re-allocated by the same ministry, through fresh allocation papers, to other people on the ground that the allocation had been revoked as part of government plans to build a centenary village on it
The chairman who further recalled that the same land grab scenario was orchestrated in Lugbe I extension, which had been converted to Rivpark Gardens and housing estates, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to revisit the issue of land administration in Abuja with a view to redressing several injustices meted out to genuine land owners there.
