There was an atmosphere of anguish and pain at Ogbondoroko, in Afon community, in the Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, as residents mourned the passing away of a man and his three kids.
It was gathered that the incident occurred between the midnight of Friday and early hours of Saturday, last week, in the family of a man popularly called Baba Mokudi.
As was told, just as Baba Mokudi entered the room where the children were asleep, he felt dizzy, fell gave up the ghost.
The wailing by the mother of the kids woke up the whole community. By the time some members of the community got to the residence of Baba Mokudi, the situation had gone beyond redemption.
Investigations also revealed that the children were aged between 11 and 12 years.
Some people in the community said that the deaths could have been caused by the meal of cassava consumed by the family members the night preceding the incident, which they said contained a harmful chemical.
