A serving member in the Adamawa House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulraham Isa, has said that the past administration of Mr.Bala Ngilari and Mr. Umaru Fintiri had bastardised the state with their sentimental ideologies and selfish interests.
Isa frowned upon the failure of both men to revive the Sukur kingdom that was picked by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as a World Heritage centre, but left office fighting among themselves over leadership without contributing meaningfully to the development of the state.
Said he: “I am disappointed in the leadership of Bala and Fintiri, who failed to revive the only international heritage site that we have in the entire North-East, but busied themselves fighting until they left office.”
Sukur kingdom, which is in Madagali Local Government Area and is where the two past governors happened to come from, was rated as one of the best seven UNESCO Heritage Sites in the country, because of its rich ancestral and culture heritage. Despite all that the place did not receive any government attention from Bala and Ngilari.”
Isa, who is also the Chairman, Committee on Budget and Appropriation, and Chairman, Integrity Group, maintained his stand to fight any form of misappropriation that would come from the Executive.
He also called on the state government to give different market days to Mubi and Girei, in the interest of commercial progress.
