Save our Forest, Adamawa commissioner cries out

Commissioner of Environment, in Adamawa State, Hon. Bulus Hammaji

The Commissioner of Environment, in Adamawa State, Hon. Bulus Hammaji, has decried the speed at which desertification was threatening the weather condition of the state, as a result of poor planting of trees.

Hammaji, who said his mission was to campaign and to bring an awareness to the people of the state via “save our forest, cut one grow ten” to bring consciousness in the minds of people to cultivate the habit of planting trees.

According to him the aim is to combat desertification which had a serious effect on climate change, which is caused mostly by uncontrollable exploitation of forest resources, and if left unchecked could damage the entire land system in Northern Nigeria.
