Enyimba players in training
A bus carrying players from Nigeria’s football league champions, Enyimba, has been attacked by robbers in the central part of the country.
A tweet from the club said no-one was injured in the incident: “We can confirm that our team bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the #SuperFour.”
It was followed by another: “Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables.”

Last year, five Kano Pillars players were injured when their entourage was attacked by gunmen on their way to a football match.
